My Blog
My name is Craig Riches and I am an internationally qualified Holistic Massage therapist with over 20 years experience in a variety of massage and bodywork techniques.
During that time I have developed my own unique style which brings together a blend of both classic Western style massage techniques with Oriental Healing & Bodywork approaches and the use of energy healing.
My treatments are tailored to the individual and draw upon intuitive techniques to create a holistic, relaxing and healing result.
I offer my services primarily to Gay and Bisexual men seeking professional massage therapy.
Holistic comes from the Greek word "holos" meaning whole. The holistic approach to treatments takes into account a person's whole being - mind, body and spirit and not just the symptom or ailment.
My style of Holistic Massage incorporates several elements and techniques from various styles and is often a very intuitive, deeply relaxing experience. Each person is different and each treatment is tailored to the individual needs of the person at that moment. My healing approach is both on a physical level and energetic level.
When required, aftercare advice can be given about nutrition, lifestyle changes and other suggestions to help the client achieve a more balanced , healthy way of life.
The treatments can be relaxing, energizing, releasing, in fact whatever the body-mind-spirit needs at that time.
Perfect for indulgence and 'you time' or for those with specific needs.

Frequently asked questions.
Below are some questions that may be of use:
Question: What days / times do you provide treatment?
Please refer to my Appointments & Rates section (call or e-mail for availability)
Do I need to bring anything to be massaged?
No. A massage couch, clean fresh towels and massage oil will all be provided for your treatment.
Question: Do I have to remain silent during the treatment?
No, not at all. If you have questions before or during the treatment just ask. If something is uncomfortable or painful, do tell me. But in general, most clients enter a deep state of relaxation during their treatment. In fact, too much verbal communication can interrupt the temporary level of lowered consciousness. For many, their treatment is the only opportunity for them to have some 'me' time and therefore it is important to make the most of that time.
Question: What should I wear when being massaged?
The most important consideration is that you, the client, is comfortable. In most cases my clients choose to be naked. However, this decision is governed by your own comfort. Often work on the buttock area is favoured as this is an area of deep seated muscle tension, but again this decision will be taken in accordance with your level of comfort during the treatment. The choice to be draped by towel/s, sheet, or not is also your own.
I try not to make a big deal about appropriate attire for the massage, so if you are more comfortable being naked that is no problem.
I will make one comment about the 'flow' of the massage being much easier when the client is naked however, but it is by not means a pre-requisite.
Question: I am concerned that I may become sexually aroused during the treatment?
Arousal can be a common reaction or response during the course of a treatment. However, it need not be a concern for you. It is an entirely natural response of relaxation. Your modesty will be respected at all times and professional conduct will always be followed. I do not offer Erotic/Sexual massages, so please do not expect this.
Question: What if I'm self conscious about my body?
I always want to ensure that my clients feel safe and comfortable. Correct draping with towels will preserve your modesty. You will also be left to dress or undress in privacy. At no point before, during or after the treatment should you feel uneasy. Should you wish for minimal draping, all you need to do is ask although keeping the body warm at all times encourages relaxation.
Question: Do I have to shower/bath before the massage?
Massage is obviously a therapy that requires close contact between client and therapist, and therefore personal hygiene is important for both parties. A shower or a bath before a massage can help in two ways. Firstly, heat will help to soften tissue and relax muscles. And secondly, clean skin is less likely to become irritated, react or get infected. If you need a shower before your massage this facility can be made available.
Question: Can I have music on whilst being massaged?
Yes. Certain music can have a profoundly calming effect, and therefore would aid relaxation of the client. I usually use music and this can also assist with the whole 'flow' of the treatment. If however you prefer no music that is fine too, just let me know beforehand.
Question: How will I feel after the massage?
That will depend on a number of factors. Fast and powerful massage can invigorate and stimulate the body and mind, leaving you wide awake and refreshed. Slow and smooth massage tends to relax you, leaving you peaceful and calm. Deep and focussed massage can leave you feeling empowered, recharged and centered.
Your current health, the time of day, the length and style of massage given etc. all have an influence on how you may feel. I will always find out what it is that you want to achieve from the massage. Almost all clients will experience positive results from good quality massage.
Question: Why do I have to drink lots of water after my treatment?
It is often recommended to drink plenty of water following a treatment as toxins can be released into the bloodstream following work on tired or tense muscles. The water can assist in the flushing of these away. If you do experience any symptoms such as headaches following a treatment, it is most likely to be related to toxin release, and only temporary, and easily remedied by drinking lots of water over a period of 24 hours.
If however you experience negative effects beyond this period, please get in touch with me for further advice.
Question: Can I eat before a massage?
Try to leave at least two hours between a large or heavy meal and your massage. Light snacks or fruit etc. is fine though. Try also to avoid any alcohol before a massage as its effects will become heightened by the treatment.
Question: I often get headaches or migraines. Can massage help me?
Yes. Tightness and congestion around the neck and shoulder area can restrict circulation of the blood, cerebrospinal fluid, and nerve stimulation to the head. as such it is one of the most common causes of headaches. Effective massage in this area will release built up tension, and so reduce the likelihood of headaches and migraines. Massage will also lower general stress levels and therefore reduce the amount of stress-induced headaches and migraines. There are also effective acupressure points which can be stimulated to assist with the energy flow and circulation
